Eric Marquis has been the Acting Head of Post at the Québec Government Office in Toronto since June 3, 2024. Since February 2023, he is Deputy Secretary at the Secrétariat du Québec aux relations canadiennes (SQRC). Prior to his appointment at SQRC, he held several diplomatic and management positions at the ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec (MRIF), including mandates as Head of Post in Washington (2004‑2007) and Chicago (2011‑2017), and as Assistant Deputy Minister for Bilateral Relations (2017‑2022). He has also worked as a Regional Director at the ministère de l’Éducation and as a Strategic Advisor for Québec International, a leading economic development organization. A graduate in History from the University of Victoria (British Columbia) and Concordia University, he also taught American History and American Foreign Policy at several Québec universities.
